Welcome To Aloura's Art

My name is Aloura Remy I am 19 years old and I live near the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State where I am blessed to be surrounded by so much beauty that inspires me to create my artwork. My fascination with art started when I was only 7 years old and I started to find ways to relax by painting or drawing certain birds, nature scenes and much more. I am fortunate to have the support of my family to follow my dreams and to utilize my gifts in many ways.

There are so many types of creatures, plants, shells, trees, Sea Glass and so much more on our local beaches that helps me create my artwork from my imagination. I enjoy adding color from my imagination to all my artwork.

I learn by doing so volunteering for different nonprofits in our area the past ten years I have learned how important it is to do my part in helping these nonprofits in person or through my artwork sales.

One of my favorite organizations to support with sale proceeds of my artwork is the Jefferson Land Trust in Port Townsend. This incredible organization helps preserve different pieces of land that will be preserved for future generations to enjoy.

I remember the first time that I realized that art could help others feel better and I was hooked. I was selling Note Cards for the Jefferson Land Trust and Marine Science Center in Port Townsend Washington to raise funds to donate to both organizations. I was able to meet some amazing people that would come by the table we set up in front of the Port Townsend Co-op and they would comment how my cards would bring a smile to their face when they were down. They would also tell me how they would send my cards to family members in different countries like Russia or France and many other countries.

One of the most memorable conversations I had during those times that still comes to my memory is a lady that had just come down to the Co-op to buy her husband of over 50 years a specific type of cookie he enjoyed sharing with her for all those years and she commented that she had bought one of my Marine Mammal Note Cards and gave it to her husband was still in the hospital and how it really cheered him up during his hospital stay. I knew then that if a small note card could make a person happy while they were going through such a stressful time in the hospital, I should keep creating more art that would bring more joy to other in similar situations. I decided then I would create art from the beauty around my local environment.

I find that nature has so many benefits for our body and minds. I try to walk everyday and to connect to the beauty and tranquility that nature offers in our local mountains, oceans, and bird preserves.
My art is a vehicle for me to express my thoughts and emotions for my environment. I feel that we are all gifted with talents that can help others and our natural world.

Currently I have been creating Paintings, Jewelry, Sculptures, and Note Cards of my artwork that I donate half of my proceeds to organizations like local Land Trust or other community organizations that help preserve nature for future generations.
